Yesterday we had our first big snow dump for the year! ZuZu and I had a good bitey face fight and romp around the yard and I howled like crazy at the neighbours shovelling the sidewalk - all before 7:30 AM!

We have the bestest friend ever! We absolutely lub our facebook friends. They are so caring, sweet, kind-hearted and always put smiles on our faces.

Yesterday we got a really cool gift from Giselle, Vincent and the beagle ninjas. A giraffe stuffed with a plastic bottle!!! How smart (in case you didn't know, beagles lub lub lub plastic bottles)!

Lately on facebook we've noticed quite a few beagle friends with a really cute snoopy bed. We were so surprised and happy when our dear friend Sadie sent us one in the mail!!! It was so unexpected and sweet, just like when Beggie sent us prezzies for her birthday.

The other day I got a package in the mail from my facebook furiend, Beggie! Beggie recently went up to live with Starbuck at rainbow bridge. We all miss her very much, especially her Momma. It was Beggie's 17th birthday in October and to celebrate his Momma sent all of Beggie's furiends small gifts. Beggie's Momma is just way too sweet.

Mummy seems to be in lub with these piggy costumes. We only had one we all had to share but she got her paws on another one and now we is two piggies.

Dear Dog Blog,

Ever since I was a little pup I just could not stand riding in the car. Even if it meant we was traveling to the beach, park, cousin Moby's or BFF Charlie's house. Every time I'd get in the car I'd drool excessively, puke and sometimes even pee cuz I was so scared.

To help me with my anxiety, M&D bought me a special thundershirt. The thundershirt helped and soon I could ride in the car for up to 45 min without puking! Our vet also helped me with some homeopathic remedies.

This is a pic of me with my thundershirt a few months ago. Can you see how upset I was in my eyes?


Over the last few weeks I'm proud to say I made another breakthrough in overcoming my car anxiety. I recently discovered the joys of sticking my nose out the window. I realized I could smell lots of yummy things and it feels nice to have the wind blow in my face.

Today M&D took me and ZuZu out for a hike and they decided to try letting me ride in the car without my thundershirt. And guess what! I did it! I was able to ride in the car without my thundershirt and there was no drool, no puke, no piddling and I was still brave enough to stick my nose out the window!


M&D are so proud of me and ZuZu is no longer rolling her eyes at how pathetic I am in the car. I'm so glad I'm getting better and pretty soon we'll be able to go on a big road trip! aroooooo!

The other day we discovered a very special kind of plant. Mummy told us that if we make a wish and blow on the flower, our wish will come true. I thought that was pretty special so I decided to call it the wish flower. Here is me being very careful and taking a sniff at it.


ZuZu was nervous and didn't want to get too close. She hadn't figured out her wish yet.



Here is me thinking very hard about what I want to wish for. There are so many things: cookies, bigger portions for dinner, more meals during the day, getting into the garbage without getting caught, figuring out how to open the fridge without getting caught, or winning this photo contest, the list goes on and on...


After a while were finally ready to make our wish. Me and ZuZu had trouble blowing on the flower so Mummy helped.



I hope our wishes come true. Can you guess what I finally settled on? What would you wish for?

Dear Dog Blog,

I decided to start my gardening early this year.  Here I am sniffing things out and planning how I want things to look.


The last thing I want is for my garden is for it to look like everyone else's. So I decided to try out some new things.  Mummy says instead of having 'green' paws I have 'heavy' paws. But isn't that exactly what a good gardener needs?! See Exhibit A and B below. I think the flowers look better closer to the ground, don't you?

I'm not sure how happy Mummy is with all this but I think its all just a matter of taste! Speaking of taste, in the middle of all this gardening I started to get a bit hungry. Here I am trying to nom on some flower leaves but Mummy caught me and said they aren't for nomming on. Do I look disappointed?


Well after all this sniffing, stomping, digging and re-organizing I decided it was time for a nap. Best part of gardening is a good nap after a hard day's work!

Dear Dog Blog,
M&D recently introduced me to something called a "time out" box. They said its for when they I need quiet time because I'm being naughty.


I'm not really sure what that means but I've decided that this 'time out' box is pretty comfy.


ZzzzZZZzzz...its definitely great for naps!



I hear M&D snicker and giggle every time I take a nap in my 'time out' box...but isn't that what its for? I  overheard them say there's no point in buying me any more expensive doggy beds but I say a pup can't have enough places to nap!

Daddy brought home a present for Mummy the other day. *Sniff sniff, sniff, sniff!* At first we thought it would be something fun for us all...


Then we found out it's a Roomba! Bah!!!!!!!!!!

Mummy was so happy (aka brainwashed!) she decided to call it "PuppyBot". Here she is trying to convince ZuZu to lub it too.


But we know better. We know this "Puppybot" is another form of the evil vaccum. We also know he will be our biggest competitor when it comes to nomming on yummy left over crumbs!!! So we quickly decided to read up on the enemy PuppyBot in our strategy to defeat him!


Despite my efforts and no matter how cute I looked, Mummy said PuppyBot stays. Boohoo!


Hmmm, I wonder how ZuZu is doing reading up on that manual?

We recently got a major dump of snow. It's probably going to be our last one for the year so we made sure we had lots of fun!

We had a rare rainless weekend in Vancouver so M&D decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and take us on a hike! Here are some pictures from the day:

For those of you who don't know me, I am very routine oriented. Mummy doesn't need an alarm clock anymore because I always alert her to my routine. What a bonus for her right?

I've recently added something new to my routine...after dinner snuggles!! Every night after Mummy finishes her dinner I jump up and paw at her.


I am a very good beagle though because I leave her to eat her dinner in peace but as soon as she finishes her last bite I'm pawing at her to HURRY! Hurry Mummy, its snuggle time!



I (and Mummy) recommend all furfriends add this to their routines!

Over the weekend I'm proud to say I took my first ever photograph with Mummy's iphone - ALL BY MYSELF! This is how it went down:

M&D came home from shopping and I was super happy to see them (as always). Mummy took this picture of me jumping up to give her a kiss:


After I was finished with my greetings, Mummy noticed my pawprint frozen on the deck.


She told me to stand back because she wanted to take a picture of it but before she could do anything I jumped in and tapped the button with my nose!

Today Mummy caught of photo of me 1/2 standing 1/2 sneeping. I had just finished my security shift on the window sill and was feeling tired. In the middle of crawling into Mummy's lap I decided this position was pretty comfortable! BOL!

harroooo! its been a while since i blogged. m&d were away on vacation and so i was busy entertaining grandmum and grandpops while they stayed over at our place.


m&d are back now and we haven't been up to much lately. the weather has been really rainy so i've been spending a lot of time curling myself up into a little ball and snuggling under the covers with mummy. plus i need to save up my energy for kissmas time. its coming up real soon!

mummy wonders how i make myself so small and how i can even breathe. don't worry mum! i'm nice and comfy! this is a picture mummy took under the covers. bol!



anyway, i hope everyone is doing well. just a few more sneeps until kissmas! i'm still waiting for mummy to make our kissmas cards...*tapping paws impatiently*....

Hi everyone! I want to thank you all for my birfday wishes over the last few days. It felt really special getting birfday greetings from all over the world (Italy, Spain, UK, Australia, USA, China...). I even got a shout out from Walter Bishop from our favorite show Fringe!!!

Hi everyone! We is so excited! A magazine based in India asked to feature our t-shirts and I volunteered to be the model! Look at me! Look at me!

This is the cover of the magazine...inside on page 10-11, there I am!

More about the magazine: WOOF! The Mag with a Wag! was launched in Mumbai by the renowned dog organisation, ‘Canines Can Care’, in 2002. Since then, the magazine has been a hit with dog lovers all over the country. It is the first magazine of its kind in India.

Cool huh? Puppy Jones goes international! Next stop, Bollywood! BOL!

We is so excited! Me and ZuZu star in our first film! Do you think its Oscar worthy? BOL! I had lots of fun with Daddy making the movie. We can't wait until the next one!

Mummy has been slacking off on her job as our typist. So our blogging, tweets and fb updates have been slow (at least by our standards!). Mummy says she has been busy with her day job so tonight I decided to help her with work so she can hurry up and do some work for me!

Mummy was preparing some flip charts so I helped supervise:


The markers had yummy blueberry and cinnamon smells. She said I could help her write but I didn't think I could wrap my paws around the markers.


So instead I decided to rest my head help hold down the paper for her as she worked.


I am such a good assistant helper!! I'm thinking about asking her about a raise. Do you think its too soon?

Yesterday was family movie night! Daddy wanted us to watch one of his all time favorite childhood movies 'The Fox and the Hound'.

There was some points during the movie that I had to hide under my blanket...


And other times I was on the edge of my seat...


All in all it was definitely a woofy movie and one of my favs (just like Daddy)! I learned a lot about friendships and about how important it is for people to take care of each other, no matter if you are a hound, fox, hooman, momma owl or a caterpillar.

By the way, do you think me and ZuZu remind you of Copper and Chief?? (with the exception that ZuZu is a girl)...

Today, Daddy brought home a SUPERSIZED t.b. for us! I immediately ran over to ZuZu to show her.

 
I thought ZuZu would spaz out because of how much she lubs tennis balls and this one is SUPERSIZED! And I was right! She just lubbed it!

We had a lot of fun with SUPERSIZED t.b., we played lots of tug-o-war:



I think playing with a SUPERSIZED toy makes you even more tired than playing with a regular one. After all our playing we ended up having a SUPERSIZED nap. ZuZu was so sneepy she even let me nap with her (a bonus!).


Thank you Daddy for our new toy!

Ok, so when M&D came back from Disneyland they brought back Goofy and Dumbo for me and ZuZu.


We was so excited about our new stuffed toys BUT we soon found out that these are not for shredding! Mummy said something about memories or something and went so far as to hide Goofy from me (I just could not keep my paws off him, can you blame me?)! Anyway, being the super sniffer that I am,  I found Goofy's hiding spot!! Mummy tried to hide him up on top of some boxes but I found him!


 Here is me climbing on top of a shoe rack behind Mummy's golf clubs just to get him:

I thought I was in the clear but then Ruh Roh!...sadly I got caught. Umm...no Mummy, those aren't my drool stains!



Mummy gave me a short lecture and I promised I wouldn't do it again but 5 minutes later...here is me looking for Goofy again....Hey, where did he go??!!

About 10 days ago Mummy and Daddy left for 'vacation'. At first I didn't know what they were talking about and what this would mean. I've never experienced M&D leaving for 'vacation'. ZuZu tried to explain it to me but I just didn't understand. Then G-ma and G-pa came over to stay and take care of us. They spoiled us lots with yummy nom noms, we spent everyday in the gardens,  slept and played in the sunshine.  ZuZu was extra spoiled because G-pa played ball with her all the time. I quickly found out that vacations are pretty cool :)

Yesterday Mummy and Daddy came back from their trip. I was so happy to see them! ZuZu and I fought to give them kisses. They were both on the floor by the time we finished!

After re-uniting as a family I had 1:1 time with Mummy. I wanted to make sure it was really her. Mummy is that really you?


After Mummy smiled and reassured me I felt it was ok to be myself again wif her.


I quickly jumped into her lap and let her give me snuggles.


I is soo happy that our family is back together again!

I've always wondered about ZuZu's fascination with t.b. and so I decided steal him away from her.


ZuZu wasn't too happy about that but it was fun having her chase me.

Over the May long weekend Mum and Dad took us out on a hike. We had lots of fun exploring and sniffing all the beautiful smells in the forest. Here are some pics from the day:

Today I was in the mood to chew on some shoes (one of my favorite past times). The tricky thing about chewing shoes though is that for some reason Mummy and Daddy don't like it when I do it. I don't understand why not - they are smelly, good for my teeth and when I do chew on shoes M&D come home with new ones (which they always seem happy about). Anyway, here is how my attempt to chew Daddy's shoes unfolded today:

Here I am trying not to attract any attention. My mouth is in the right position and I am just waiting for the right moment to CHOW DOWN!


UH OH...I think someone is coming...Daddy is calling my name.


I quickly close my eyes to pretend I'm sleeping!


It doesn't work, Daddy has found me out. I try to tell him "Daddy, I'm only using the shoe to rest my head" but he just rolls his eyes at me. Hrrrmmmph!


Ok, Daddy isn't convinced....need to give up on this one (for now)...


1 minute later....

"Oh, hi again Daddy...I'm just resting my head...."


*sigh* Chewing shoes was a FAIL today but there is always tomorrow!

I recently blogged about the great time we had with Duke the beagle and his Mummy Hyedie who visited us from Toronto. If you missed it, you can read about it here.

Duke's foster beagle brofur, Petey, wasn't able to make the trip. I would have loved to meet Petey because I wanted to show him some tricks I copied from him. See Petey's video called "Working on 10 Part Behavior Chain with Petey" http://www.whenhoundsfly.com/resources/videos.html (Duke and Petey are both amazing beagles and lucky to have a Daddy (Andre) who is a positive reinforcement dog trainer).

Here is me doing two of the tricks (and ZuZu playing ball):



Am I good or what? arrroooooo! Ok I'm not as good or fast as Petey but I'll get there! Especially if treats are involved. I'll do tricks for treats anytime!

What really needs working on though is Mummy's yoga. *whispers* I think Mummy has a tougher time keeping her balance than I do with my tricks! BOL!

Here is a few pics of Duke checking out our garden. Doesn't he look sweet?





After our meet and greet at our house, we decided to go for a walk to Princess Park nearby. Duke is also crazy about his ball like ZuZu. Here is Duke with his Mum, Heidi, and Duke with his ball resting under a tree.


After we played in the park we went for an unexpected hike. M&D forgot which way to go home BOL! so we showed Duke and his Mum the scenic way home. Here is me posing, looking small in the big forest!

I was really sad to see Duke go. I was a babypup and cried when he left. Daddy took this video of me as Duke and his Mum were leaving. The clip was much longer with me crying but we cut it short cuz I embarrassed. I hope Duke comes back to visit again soon!

Mummy likes to take lots and lots of photos of us. Mostly I just stare and occasionally squint my eyes when there is too much flash. Starbuck was a much better poser than I am. ZuZu just tolerates Mummy and usually only gives her about 3 basic poses: 1) on the couch 2) jumping for the ball 3) waiting for Mummy to throw the ball. Anyway, Daddy got Mummy a new camera and she was so excited I decided to pose a bit for her. Tell me what you think.

I lub lub lub eating my beds. But its very important to do it when Mummy and Daddy aren't looking and especially important not to get caught.

This way I get lots of "awws" and Mummy and Daddy forget they were gonna get mad at me!!  (I consider this a modified head tilt technique, see "head tilt"comic)
